Avery Ranch homes for rent are a popular way for people to get in to the neighborhood and learn the schools, since that's what draws most people, in my experience.  Avery Ranch houses are the most common offering, but there are condos and town homes near the intersection of Parmer & Avery Ranch Blvd.  Avery Ranch has a golf course, a club, many great ponds and amenity centers with tennis courts, basketball courts, lap pools and play grounds for the little ones.  Avery Ranch is in 78717, which is in northwest Austin, just this side of Cedar Park, with Round Rock schools.
